William Letginlal Haokip: First Birthday

A moment to Remember: The birth of my son

Today (the 1st of October 2008) my son is completing 365 days under the dust and the wind of this planet. He came to this world on Monday at 3:30 pm, October 1, 2007. He weights 3.8 Kg and looks like none other than His creator. At his birth his mother longs for her beloved husband to be around for emotional support to ease the pain, but her dreams and desires grow dim as her husband was miles and miles away from home. The many people around her could give little comfort; their presence hardly mean anything. Her tears drop falls like a cascade, yet no one in the room could read that tears except the triune God. The Almighty God heard the cried, He came and touched the fading mother who was lying unconsciously, and she gave birth to a healthy young baby boy.

On October 1, 2007, the lunch at Sermapore College was over; the dining hall was empty, as most of the students having filled their stomach were in their room for afternoon nap. But there was one faithful man who was on his knee inside MSQ 113. He was earnestly pleading for God’s gracious hand to be upon his wife and the unborn child. His prayer was answered and instantly his cell phone rang, he picks up and answered the phone; it was the voice of his mother-law who was filled with excitement exclaims “Congratulation! Mr. Paul, you have a baby boy”. And that man knew no bound, and he was back on his knee again and keep thanking God again and again for prayer answered. I said …The Lord’s is faithful all the time.

Glory to His name….Amen

Taking Risk To Live Out God's Will

Living out God’s will, will require taking some risks:

Jesus call His disciples to follow Him, and become fishers of men. They had no idea what was in store for them! When Jesus called Saul (Paul), He did not reveal to him all that his ministry would entail or require from him. The same is true for us today! God’s guidance is given one step at a time, and often requires that we take some scary steps
of faith. In the parable of the talents in Mt. 25:14-30, we learned that the first two servants were not told what to do with the talents that were entrusted to them. They went at once and put their money to work and gained double the talents. They used their own reasoning powers to decide how best to work with the talents they had been given. They took some risks. Learning to take risks is an essential part of following God and living out His will for our lives. Without risks, a person’s life becomes a process of digging an ever-deeper cut in which he or she stagnate and cuts himself or herself off from all the God intends life to be. “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Heb. 11:1). God calls us to live courageously-to take risks in order to use our gifts and bring salt and light to this hurting world.

I shared this because I have taken risked in faith and God has never put me down. When I joined NIIPGTS, under senate of Serampore as M.Th student, I had no idea where would i get the money to pay off my tuition fees and other needs. It was the word of Jesus and the testimony of the apostles that led me to step out in faith. so did i, and God has enable me to completed my first year without any dues and problems. God has honor my faith. And I believe that God will take me through even the second year of my M.Th studies.
