My Testimony

How I came to know the Lord:

Before I came to know Christ, the best way to describe my attitude toward Christianity was that I did not care at all. Even though my parents would encourage me to go to church, I saw no need for that. I would not mind being involved in other activities. I would become very easily bored with anything Christian. Even with all this I did not indulge in any bad habits because I was an athlete and it was very important to be fit. So I saw no need to drink or smoke, and this was because I wanted to be good at athletics.And the next important thing that happened was when I moved down to Poona to study. In the early days I had many difficulties. At one time I got very sick and was in bed for three days. I had no one to help me, and I went through this all alone. It was these times that I realized how important my Parents were to me. I remember they used to always pray for me so I started doing the same thing. Then one day when I was sitting in Nisha Hotel a person came up to me and introduced himself as Navin. He is a Christian. During the conversation he came to know that I was a Christian too and he was willing to help me. So he introduced me to his family and other friends. His father, H.M Suttle has helped me out a lot in my spiritual and other various needs. During all this I was asking myself many questions. God convicted me a lot and then, on 17th Sept 95 I committed my life to Christ. I made certain decisions about how I must live from then on. Since then I have grown slowly in the Lord. I became a part of E.U and this has helped me a lot in my spiritual growth too.Now when I look back at my life, I see how merciful God has been to me. Even though I was not a Christian, it was amazing how I would always get money at the last minute for my various needs. I used to be a part of football team and others sports and we would be traveling in different parts of India, and God had always protected me all this time. And there are many more examples where God has been gracious to me.After accepting and committing my entire life for Christ opportunities flow in related to Jobs in India and abroad. At the same instances, the word theology lingered in my mind, as I wanted to go for full time. But prohibiting my thoughts in my heart, thus, asking the Lord His plans. My friends I want to speak to you the truth that about the total dependence on God work out in my life. Hence, I step forward one more step in my life towards various examination. But a moment came in my life, when God led me to have a lively conversation with Rev. Dino L. Touthang, who gave comforting and soothing words, which gave hope in my life. With a hope in my heart I approach Kuki Worship Service (Delhi) for sponsorship, in spite of certain limitation. Peripheries of limitation broke down like the deficit amount for sponsorship by KWS when they show positive sign to Sponsor me. In the midst of adversities God lifted me up by using the channel known as KWS. Finally I landed up in Union Biblical Seminary (UBS) Pune, to equip with the truth embedded in His Holy words. Words are poor to felicitations for KWS but where ever I go, I will glow the torch of KWS.But my friends in Christ, the hallmark of my life is in the feet of Christ. In the same manner, I conceive that God will assist you in the arena of your life. Struggle and life are interwoven such as; relationship, family problem, failure in education, and Competition etc. listen to what Don Moen says, “ God will make away where there seems to be no way, He walk in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me, He will be my guide hold me closely by His side, with love and strength for its new day, He will make away, He will make away…………” My friends eventually I wind up with one scripture of the Bible, “Obedience is better than sacrifice.”
