We Christians are good at hating and condemning others. We want to take revenge for everything that hurts us. But when we look at the scriptures and listen carefully to the gospels, it teaches us to love and not to hate. We are to love not only those who loves us, but to love our enemies and pray for them as well, Jesus says “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). No matter how other people or religious group hate us, persecute us, we are taught not to take vengeance as the scripture says, “Never take your own revenge, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay says the Lord” (Romans 12: 19). So, God will deal according to their deeds, “…for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap” (Galatians 6:5).It is also true that in India Christians are persecuted everywhere. Even the government seems to take sides to the people of other faiths. The victims are always Christians. But our Lord taught us not to rebel but to submit to the authority as Jesus teaches us “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Mark 12: 17). Therefore as a true Christians, we are to abide by the law of the government. But if the government misused its authorities, they will be rewarded according to their deeds. Therefore we are not to bother what others do, but we must see to it that we obey the Word of God and also obey the law of our Nation.
